DESCRIPTION:
APW - Waltham, Riverside Maximus with winding indicator, 23J, 16S, gold-filled OF case, white enamel DS dial, SW-LS, fully capped lever escapement, diamond end stones on balance and escape wheel, jeweled barrel, Lossier inner terminal hairspring, circular pattern nickel damascene, s#23100003. An excellent example of this very rare watch. From examples we have observed, this Riverside Maximus winding indicator with circular pattern damascene appears to have had a total production of only 200 made with all examples found in a single run spanning serial numbers 23100001 to 23100200. This particular example has the added distinction of being from the very early portion of this run, being the third made by serial number.
CONDITION:
Mvt: Running, good winding indicator function, nearly mint cosmetic mvt condition overall, bright lustrous surfaces, few small fine to micro-fine scratches; dial with hl below seconds-register near 6; excellent hands; case shows hardly any wear, no dents or dings, superb crisp engine turning and engraving detail, case with extra lever-set slot at 1; tight bow, crown shows hardly any wear; good glass crystal.
